A safe, unhurried space to explore what you’re feeling.
Confidential, non-judgmental, in-person counselling — somewhere comfortable to think things through, and gently begin to feel more like yourself.
My approach
What being integrative means
Being integrative means I’m not bound by a single counselling theory. Instead, I draw on many methods of therapeutic intervention to give you a completely personal experience as you move forward with whatever you’re facing.
By listening to you and understanding your needs, I use my knowledge and experience to choose the most appropriate theory — or combination of theories — to help you move on in your life. The work is shaped around you, not the other way around.
About me
Hello, I’m Janet.
I am an integrative counsellor working in the North Essex area and a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
Thank you for taking the time to look at my profile — I hope you find the information here useful.
I offer a confidential and safe place to explore your feelings, together with a non-judgmental, comfortable and relaxing space for you to develop and grow. Together we explore your feelings, thoughts and beliefs about yourself, your relationships with others, and your life experiences.
We often repeat patterns of behaviour we are not conscious of, and we have a tendency to avoid thinking about painful or traumatic experiences. Counselling is about exploring and confronting these feelings and patterns. I believe everyone has within them the capacity for change.
I believe in a holistic approach — striving for balance in our lives through the connection between mind and body. Counselling can help restore and promote a sense of internal balance. I will support you on your journey and throughout your therapeutic experience, allowing you to find your own meaning of a happy life.
Alongside my work as a counsellor, I also have over twenty years’ experience working in the London transport industry.

What I can help with
People come to counselling for all kinds of reasons. Some of the things we might work through together include:

Other reasons might include neglect, isolation, loneliness, discrimination or difficulties with drug and alcohol use.
Whatever it is you’re carrying, you don’t have to make sense of it on your own.
